Accepting Yourself Just As You Are

Love yourself no matter who you really are.

      ~ Jen Sincero ~

How often do you think “I’m not good enough? What’s wrong with me”?

Like most people, probably way too much.

We compare ourselves to others and let the narrative run through our heads without being aware of it.

Looking back at your younger days, it’s easy to see where it probably started. Your upbringing, environment, things you were taught to believe, etc.

This is not to blame anyone or anything. It could be that those past experiences can help you examine and rethink what they could teach you right now. Maybe even thank them for their part in helping you grow and move forward in your life. You can learn from your past. You can accept yourself right where you are now, and see a future that is possible.

My Experience

Self Acceptance is a work in progress for me and has been a struggle for many years. I have learned to be patient with myself and most recently have experienced a conscious shift and awareness towards thoughts of self-acceptance. That feeling was so freeing. We put our minds in this imaginary cage with the door shut and the door is not locked, just closed. We can walk out at any time. Funny how the mind works.

So, find the people in your life that inspire and encourage you. They are out there. They could be family, friends, groups, etc. Try giving authentic complements to those around you. Look for their positive qualities. Watch their expression. Its good for all of us to support each other. Life is about giving and receiving.
