The world as we knew it has changed since the outbreak of the coronavirus. My personal life has changed and it is amazing the things I took for granted that have either changed or temporarily disappeared. The simple things of just going to the grocery store or bank have changed. Other things such as going to the movie and golfing have been placed on hold. There are a lot of people working from home. Kids can’t go to school nor can they play with their friends. The entertainment business has been effective. No live sports on TV. Even the shows we like to watch on TV are ending earlier this year because they canceled filming. Going out to a restaurant presently doesn’t exist. Luckily we can still order take out and either pick it up curbside or have it delivered. Heck, even family gatherings aren’t acceptable. All these things I mentioned are things we took for granted. You don’t realize how much you miss something until you don’t have it.
What Changes Will We See?
Yes, things will come back once this pandemic is over. But as with any major disaster, everything won’t come back as it once was. Disasters force us to make changes and some are permanent. I am just guessing but probably more people will work from home in the future. Interestingly, I wonder if there will be more online schooling. I’m sure home delivery will increase. Will business travel change? I’m sure there will be a better system implemented to monitor world health conditions. These are only a few things I can think of. I’m pretty sure there will be changes in the future that I can’t even think of.
As with any disaster, we will weather the storm. We will come out of it a better person, society, country and/or world.
